Construction
Features
Cover ¡ª The oil and heat resistant top cover protects the belt from
damage while contributing to the belt¡¯s dimensional stability. The cover
stock is bias cut to provide lateral stability while allowing axial
flexibility.
Tension Member ¡ª Stability is assured through the use of the cushion
stock that maintains cord ¡°lay¡± integrity and uniform distribution of
load transmission.
Precision Molded Cogs ¡ª Provide for optimum flexibility with a minimum
of heat build-up. Flexing generates heat, heat will shorten belt life.
Compression Section ¡ª The fiber loaded compression section provides the
gripping action and high coefficient of friction of a conventional
cut-edge construction while at the same time, allowing an initial
start-up clutching action to eliminate power spikes and excessive
bearing loading.

Banded Belts
The band
construction allows multiple belts to function as a single unit, with
even load distribution and each strand fitting securely in the sheave
groove.

Description
The band assures high lateral rigidity, guiding the belt in a straight
line and preventing it from coming off the drive. Sidewalls make the
belt well suited for drives with smaller diameter sheaves. Cords are
strongly bonded to the body of the belt resulting in equal load
distribution and absorption of bending stress without cord
deterioration.
Markets/Applications
Recommended for multiple V-belt drives exposed to pulsating or heavy
shock loads which can make belts whip, turn over or jump off the drive.
